
Introduction to Toyobo
Toyobo is a leading Japanese company active in multiple industrial sectors, founded in 1882 under the name Osaka Boseki. Initially, the company operated as a textile manufacturer producing natural fibers such as cotton, but over time it expanded into chemical materials, polymer films, medical products, and environmental technologies. Toyobo’s headquarters are located in Osaka, Japan, and its shares are listed on the Tokyo Stock Exchange.
Toyobo became the first producer of letterpress printing plates under the Printight brand in 1977. These plates are widely used in the printing and packaging industry, especially for printing on films, food packaging, and cartons.
Later, Toyobo introduced the Cosmolight line for use in flexographic printing systems.
As printing technologies evolved, Toyobo developed additional products to meet the needs of modern printing.
